Camping!!!

So we did it! We went camping! This is Jack at the end of camping, doesn't he look tuckered out :)

So our small group from church was going to go camping, but of course it was torrential downpour that night, but a few of us still braved the weather and went camping. It was a blast. We actually had a nice break in the rain for dinner and getting camp all settled, it rained all night, but we all stayed dry and had a nice fire and smores. Jack did really well sleeping in the tent, (i took a pack n play). he slept through the storm and woke at 3 super excited to be in the tent, i tried to have him join me on the ground, but he was too excited, he kept hugging and kissing me and pointing to everything in the tent. I eventually let him crawl around the tent (since he couldn't get out) while i dozed and he eventually came and snuggled up next to me, or should i say sprawled out next to me and hogged my blanket :) and slept till about 6:30. He really enjoyed just being outside all the time and being messy. More of our small group came up the next morning to play at the lake.

Caroline is our friends dog, jack loves her, but he is not so good with gentle, she tolerates him really well though. Jack gets sooo excited to see her!

On a side note, Jack is walking a little bit now, when he wants to he can stand up on his own and take a few steps. He is starting to get the hang of it, I think in the next week he will really take off. i will try to get a video...

So yes, was it crazy to camp with a baby in the rain, sure, but it was a great adventure and good story, and i would totally do it again :)

ps a propane lantern, stove, and grill come in very handy in the rain though... thanks to my super camper husband who has collected all of this gear for me. i should have more pics from some friends for another camping post in a couple of days. Jack says "HI" to all of you :)
