Sweatland Family Blog: 7 months old

Unbelievable that another month has gone by so quickly. I wanted to make sure I got the blog up before he gets any bigger :)

So Jack is now 7 months old and he is getting more fun every day. As you can tell he is getting bigger, up to my thigh now or if I'm holding him he takes up my entire torso. I would guess he is about 20.5 lbs now.

He now has 5 teeth with one more coming soon and 2 more on the way. On the bottom he has 3 and his top 2 have cut through, but you can't see them as well. He has one more coming on the bottom. He cut the last 3 in the past week. He was really quite good only woke up a few times at night. The only real problem with the teeth is the biting...but we are working on it. I am still nursing him so if he bites me I just flick his cheek. It is amazing how he even now tests it to see if the consequence is the same. He did it three times in a row the other day, and got 3 tiny flicks, and that was it, the he hasn't tried it since...amazing that at 7 months he understands.

He is sleeping well and still will occasionally wake at 3:30 to eat, but most nights sleeps from 7:45 to 6 am and then goes back down till 8 or so. He is napping better now with one good nap a day that is an hour and a half with 2-3 other short naps. He goes down pretty easily though and is comfortable in his crib. He moves all over the crib now I always find him in a different place and I leave some toys in there that he can play with. He is also flipping onto his belly, which he doesn't usually mind and he has even fallen asleep on his belly a few times.

He is eating well and nurses about 4-5 times a day and eats real food at dinner time and usually in the midmorning has some fruit. He is also drinking water from a straw now, which he loves and the water helps to avoid constipation.

Jack has a very pleasant disposition and he is very pleasant most of the day. He doesn't fuss unless he is hungry, sleepy, or dirty. He does really well with independent play time and loves his jumper. He loves it when daddy throws him up in the air and his giggle is so fun.

One of the best things is that he is now giving kisses, they are open mouth kisses and he pulls your face to him like he's going to eat you, but it is wonderful. He will also reach his hands out for me to pick him up from his play mat and his crib.

He is also very verbal now. He chatters in his crib alot and talks to his toys. He has said DaDa and we think it is distinctive to Jake. Other noises are not as specific.

For those of you that know diaper sizes he is now up to a size 4...at 7 months.

We love him soo much. He is amazing, every day he is changing and learning. He is soo pleasant.

We have also been leaving him with people so that we can do some things and he has been doing well for them. The other day our good friends watched him so Jake and I could go on a date. We went to the range and to dinner. It was great!!!
